| As the voice of interpreters and translators in the United States, the American Translators Association (ATA) is a professional organization with 9,000 members worldwide. ATA’s mission is to promote the recognition of professional translators and interpreters and to advocate on behalf of the professions. In light of recent events in Eastern Europe, ATA would like to recognize our colleagues in Ukraine and Russia, as well as Ukrainian and Russian expats, who devote their lives and professional work to building bridges between cultures through peaceful communications. The impact of their work reverberates throughout the world and touches the lives of everyone they serve. ATA would like to express solidarity with and support for our Ukrainian and Russian colleagues during this challenging time. We thank them for their dedication to the professions and hope for their continued safety and the safety of their loved ones. |
