Enforcing the Code of Ethics, a Very Complex Process (4 hours of CEU)

Saturday, August 4th

Ingrid Oseguera has prepared a class for court interpreters about the “Code of Ethics and its applications in real life”.

This is a very dynamic class to review, compare, and practice with more than 10 scenarios. We will review the Court Code of Ethics from the United States and the code of ethics from other countries.

Furthermore, this class will help the court and community interpreter to identify the differences between the Community Interpreting Code of Ethics and the Court Code of Ethics.

Among the scenarios that we will be discussing is the famous case of Iowa in 2013, the widely publicized position taken by Erik Camayd-Freixas in the Postville case.
