One of the perks of being a member of Utah Translators and Interpreters Association is inclusion in UTIA’s member directory. There you can post your contact information for potential clients, a picture of yourself and links to your profiles. Because marketing your services is important to your business, keeping your UTIA public profile up to date is important.
Viewing your UTIA public profile
You can view your public profile by entering “http://www.utianet.org/user/” plus your username. For example, my public profile is found in http://www.utianet.org/user/marcomorahuizar/. Once you’ve found your public profile, you can share it on social media, emails, your resume, etc.
Edit your UTIA public profile
To edit your public profile, you must be logged in. You can log in by clicking on the “Login” link on the top menu.
In the login page, enter your username, password and the answer to a simple math question, and click “Log in”.
Once you are logged in, you will notice that the items in the top menu have changed. Instead of “Join” and “Login”, you will find a blue button that says “You”. Click on “You” and then click on “View Your Profile” in the drop down menu.
To edit your profile, click on the settings icon (blue gear icon, number 1 in the picture below), then click on the “Edit Profile” option.
The parts of your profile
I’ve included a picture of my profile here to show you the standard layout of your profile. First of all, notice that the number 1 marks the settings icon. Under settings, you’ll find the “Edit Profile” option.
