This free webinar will cover an overview of the two nationally recognized certification bodies for medical interpreters: The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) and the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI). Each organization provides a valid credential, but differ in their language offerings, test composition, recertification requirements, and accreditation status. This webinar will serve as an orientation for those new the certification process, and compare the national programs to the Utah Medical Language Certification program.
Participants will:
- Learn the pre-requisites for the credentials offered by NBCMI (HUB-CMI & CMI) and CCHI (CoreCHI, Provisional CoreCHI & CHI).
- Understand the composition and scoring for both written and oral exams, and how best prepare for them.
- Understand the re-certification process and requirements. No CEUs will be granted for participation in this webinar.
